There’s still time to earn yourself a $5 credit in December if you spend $25 by November 30th. And there are some great movies coming out in December  – we’re just saying. We’ll even give you some easy ways to reach your goal.

Bigelow, big fun, and a big, blue nose

Watch the powerful drama, Detroit, on Vudu today!

Set to the backdrop of one of the largest citizen uprisings in U.S. history, Detroit is a powerhouse of a movie from Kathryn Bigelow (Point Break, The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) that has received high praise from critics, and on Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and CinemaScore.

Watch Kingsman: The Golden Circle today on Vudu!

If you’re looking for a different kind of action, your favorite dapper spies (and the Crown Princess of Sweden) are back in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. They say manners maketh the man, but action maketh this movie. And you’ll get plenty of it from this team of super agents whose aim is as sharp as their outfits.

Haven’t seen the original? Go full circle with a The Golden Circle and The Secret Service bundle.

And if the young ones (or the young at heart) are looking for a movie, then…it’s time to play the music. It’s time to light the lights. It’s time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight – well, The Muppets Christmas Carol. The gang is back with a special 20th Anniversary Edition that includes all-new audio commentary from your favorite Muppets, a sing-along, a look at Christmas all over the world, and much more.

If you rent it, you can watch (in up to 30 days)

You're in luck, watch Logan Lucky today on Vudu!

The holidays are a busy time, so why not relax with Logan Lucky, a Steven Soderbergh heist movie that doesn’t take place in a casino; or Tulip Fever, a story of love and betrayal set in 17th century Amsterdam.

Stop and watch Tulip Fever on Vudu today!

Too busy? No problem. You’ve got 30 days to start your movie before your rental period begins. So, finish decorating the tree. Wrap those presents. Don’t worry, your rental will be waiting for you.

Heck, you don’t even have to watch at home if you have our mobile app (Android, iOS). Download the movie and watch on the go without using data.

Movies you won’t find on Blu-ray…

Because they’re still in theaters. But we’ve got them. How? That’s the magic of digital! (Watch it first, instantly!)

Watch 24 Hours To Live on Vudu, while it's still in theaters!

Watch 24 Hours to Live. It’s part John Wick and part Crank, with the adrenaline rush of both. Ethan Hawke gets even with the agency that ruined his life, then took his life, then brought him back to life.

Then on Friday, there’s Slumber, a horror thriller starring Maggie Q. It’s dark and creepy, and you definitely won’t be slumbering after you watch it.

Or go independent with Tribes of Palos Verdes, starring Jennifer Garner and Justin Kirk (APB, Weeds) as a couple who moves their family to glamourous Palos Verdes, CA, only to find it isn’t as great as they thought. Available to watch starting this Friday as well.

New This Week – Don’t be no jive turkey edition

Spooks, crooks, and cooks

Turkey day is upon us. Good for friends, family, football, and food. Not so good for our large-bodied fowl friends. (Deep thought of the day – the sound we attribute to turkeys, gobble, is also the name of the action we have for eating them. #mindblown)

But just because you need to play the perfect host and prepare a perfect meal for a houseful of hungry people (no pressure), it doesn’t need to be a stressful holiday. Especially when you can keep everyone entertained (and out of your hair) with Vudu!

Watch American Assassin on Vudu today! #pewpew

Create a diversion (classic clandestine tactic pro-tip) with the action flick American Assassin. Watch Michael Keaton hang up his Vulture wings and open up an assassin school for spooks, so that new recruit Dylan O’Brien can light it up.

Despicable Me is available now on Vudu! Bananas, we know.

Or if the little ones are running amok, let them go bananas with Despicable Me 3. It’s got a nice family theme with Gru discovering a long lost twin brother, Dru – not to mention everyone’s favorite Minions.

Get wined and dined on The Trip to Spain, now available on Vudu

And if you’ve got too many cooks in the kitchen, get them focused on other food matters with The Trip to Spain. Watch comedians Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon check out breathtaking locales and to-die-for cuisine while on a hilarious culinary road trip through Spain.

Are we seriously not doing "phrasing" anymore?

We’ve even got several TV season bundles for binging, while you’re binging. Choose the vintage that pairs best with your menu: American Horror Story (S1-6), Archer (S1-8), The Americans (S1-5), and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Complete series).

Or go anti-Thanksgiving for free with the horror classics ThanksKilling and ThanksKilling 3, showing now on Movies On Us.

New movies not in theaters

Channel a hipster (I saw that movie before it was a movie) and watch these movies before their theatrical release. How? Because we’re just extra.

Get criminal with Hangman and watch Al Pachino and Karl Urban (damn it Jim, this time I’m not a doctor) chase down a notoriously vicious serial killer with ties to Pachino’s past.

Watch Crooked House before it's in theaters! How? That's an Agatha Christie worthy mystery...

Or get classically criminal with Crooked House. This film adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s most twisted tales is packed with suspense and stars – including Glen Close, Christina Hendricks, and Gillian Anderson.

New rentals. No turkeys.

Rent The Hitman's Bodyguard today on Vudu. It's triple-a rated executive laughs.

Watch Birth of the Dragon, a story inspired by the battle between Bruce Lee and Shaolin Monk Wong Jack Man. Get between a hitman and a triple-a rated executive protection agent as they go head-to-head in the comedy action hit, The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Or be visually amazed by Luc Besson’s (The Fifth Element, Taken, and Lucy) Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Happy Thanksgiving Vudu fans!

Enjoy a Despicable family movie night this Thanksgiving weekend

Guess who’s back, back again. Gru is back, tell a friend. Guess who’s back, guess who’s back, guess who’s back….

Despicable Me 3 is now available on Vudu in up to 4K +HDR. That’s right, Gru, the girls, and the Minions are back for a third adventure – and it’s just as hilarious and family-friendly as the previous ones. So, take a break from hosting and relax with Despicable Me 3.

We’ve put together a few tips to help make family movie night quick and easy (and fun) – because we know the tryptophan is already kicking in…

But before we get started, gather all your sidekicks and set the mood with this exclusive clip:

Gru + Dru + You (and your family)

If you haven’t already, pick up Despicable Me 3. (Kind of important for movie night.)

Then, since movies need snacks, have the kids – and even the kids at heart – make some Minions snack holders. (via

Next, you’ll want to sharpen your mind for maximum villainy with a crossword and other fun games.

Now that you’re almost ready to watch, why not watch in Minion-vision with these easy to make Minions goggles. (via

What’s new this week, a blonde bombshell, and free movies

The (Viking) world will be yours

Yeah, yeah, we know what you’re thinking – it’s the History Channel. But let’s not forget that history is filled with drama, violence, and lots of other things that make great TV.  This popular series tells the tale of historical hero Ragnar Lothbrok and his rise to King of the Vikings with some very interesting (and bloody) storylines.

Right now, you can get a special “box set” of the first four seasons for 66% off, and pre-order season five. It’s time to Viking up.

What’s the deal with Seinfeld?

The show about nothing is on Vudu. That’s right. The entire series – man hands, doing the opposite, being master of your domain, yada yada, the puffy shirt, muffin tops, Newman!, and more – is all here. So while there’s no soup for you, there’s definitely lots of Seinfeld for you.

This rental is the bomb

If you’re looking for explosive action, Atomic Blonde delivers. Rent this hard-hitting action flick that pits Charlize Theron against…well, basically everybody. Think John Wick, except now he is a she and her name is Lorraine Broughton – and her bullet count (and body count) are everything we’d expect from an action flick this nuclear. Here comes the boom indeed.

Watch free movies – Fight for Justice Collection

Justice is worth fighting for, but you know what you don’t have to fight for? Free movies. Watch Kurt Russell solve a quadruple-homicide in Dark Blue, Jean-Claude Van Damme in Universal Soldier, a one-eyed Jeff Bridges in a great remake of True Grit, Dwayne Johnson rock his hometown in Walking Tall, and a bunch of other great movies for free.

This week is nuts: Watch The Nut Job 2 and pre-order A Bad Moms Christmas and Thor: Ragnarok

Also, watch Wind River and rent The Dark Tower, Kidnap, and Patient Seventeen

Movie titles don’t get much better than Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature. I mean really, how can you not want to watch this movie. (OPP = Other People’s Pistachios). So gather the scurry (yes, there is a name for a group of squirrels) and watch this adorable sequel (squeak-quel?) this weekend. No kids? No problem. There’s plenty of humor in it for kids at heart too.

Also dropping today is Wind River, a crime thriller that drops the temperature on Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen as they work together to solve the murder of a young woman that’s as brutal as the Wyoming winter.

New to rent

Perhaps you were locked in a dark tower and missed The Dark Tower in the theaters. This adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same name pits Idris Elba (The Gunslinger) against a vengeful and destructive Matthew McConaughey (deceptively named Walter) in a supernatural battle for the universe. Saddle up and rent it today, cowboy.

We’ve also got Kidnap, staring Halle Berry as a mom on a mission to rescue her kidnapped son. Not to be confused with The Call, which also stars Halle Berry helping a kidnap victim – but this time as a 911 operator. (Pro-tip: Don’t let Halle Berry watch your kids.)

And if you’re up for some conspiracy theory and little green/grey men, check out Patient Seventeen, a documentary that follows a surgeon who claims to remove microchips embedded by aliens from their human abductees. #thetruthisoutthere

Pre-order galore

It’s almost that time of year again…that’s right, it’s almost time for snow, shots, and Santa. The Bad Moms are back with A Bad Moms Christmas, and we’ve already got our fingers on the pre-order triggers for this Friday. (Sip on that spiked eggnog.) This movie looks as hilarious and inappropriate as the first and we’re not ashamed to admit that we can’t wait to watch it.

Know what else we can’t wait to watch? Thor: Ragnarok. Aka the adventures of Thor and Hulk. (We know each other. He’s a friend from work.) We’re also excited about the elements of the Planet Hulk comic book storyline that have been added. But we hear there’s a bit of Bifrost chaos with the bridging of other pieces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we’ll see how that goes. Pre-order starts Friday.

Speaking of which…Watch free Marvel’s Avengers: At It Again

How convenient, free Marvel to hold us over while we wait for the Thor movie to come out. Coincidence? You decide. But it’s not like you can be mad at free titles like Thor Animated Movie: Tales of Asgard, Planet Hulk, Ultimate Avengers: The Movie, Doctor Strange, and more. All free and all awesome.
