Hobo with a Shotgun
Starring: Rutger Hauer, Gregory Smith, Molly Dunsworth, Brian Downey, Nick Bateman
Director: Jason Eisener
In 2007, directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino unleashed one of their greatest collaborations to date – “Grindhouse”. An homage and throwback to the exploitation films of the 1970s, the film (containing two back-to-back movies “Planet Terror” and “Death Proof”) proved to be a critical and commercial failure, though it did create a fervent cult fan base. Most everyone agreed that the highlight of “Grindhouse” was not the back-to-back films, but rather the filler, fake trailers that aired between both movies. One of those trailers, Machete, became a feature length film on its own just last year, finally satisfying all the fanboys who had hoped to see the trailer become a full length film. Hot on the heels of Machete comes another trailer that has been expanded to a feature-length film, Hobo with a Shotgun. A complete experience and thrill-a-minute of a film, Hobo with a Shotgun is sure to please and tantalize. Hobo with a Shotgun is now available to rent on VUDU in SD, HD, and HDX one month before it premieres in theaters nationwide!
Starring: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Barbara Hershey, Winona Ryder
Director: Darren Aronofsky
20th Century Fox / Fox Searchlight
Rated R for strong sexual content, disturbing violent images, language and some drug use
Black Swan, director Darren Aronofsky’s latest journey into the deepest recesses of the human mind, joins his already impressive pedigree of films, and proves to be one of his finest achievements. Having been in development for a decade, Black Swan was a truly a labor of love for Aronofsky, and the results show it. Black Swan was praised heavily during the recent awards season, garnering multiple nominations for directing and producing. Of course, the real praise was showered on Natalie Portman for her portrayal of a ballerina on a dangerous and deadly downward spiral into insanity. She won Best Actress at both the Academy and Golden Globe Awards. Black Swan is an amazing film featuring brilliant acting, provocative cinematography, and a memorable musical score that will stick with you for days after watching. Black Swan is now available on VUDU to own, or rent in SD, HD, and HDX one month before it is available on Netflix.
