Summer Sequels, A Summer Tradition

Summer means vacations, bbqs, and of course, summer sequels. And we’ve got plenty of summer sequels in our Summer Sequels Sale to help you keep the action going. So save, and save again, and check out the sale here.

Dad Bod, Another Summer Tradition

Continuing the tradition of summer sequels, we’ve got the continued tales of all your favorite big-screen dads to kick your Father’s Day off right. Whether its international intrigue, family feuds, or just good old-fashioned fun, these fathers and kids have some unfinished business sure to keep you and the dad(s) in your life entertained.

Two dads. Two granddads. One step-Cena. Daddy’s Home 2 has all the masculine (and sensitive) energy you, and your family, probably want to handle.

First came love, then came marriage, now there’s a new grandkid and a new baby on the way. It comes with the territory when you’re Father of the Bride (Part II).

That moment when your dad gets in more trouble than you do. The man-boys of summer are back in Grown Ups 2 to prove to themselves and their kids that growing up is still very hard to do.

Don’t ever take sides against the family. Decades and continents apart, a father and his sons will go through whatever (and whoever) it takes to realize their American dreams in The Godfather Part II.

He just couldn’t wait to be king, now his princess wants an adventure of her own. The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride has a lion’s share of fun for dads and cubs alike.

He has a very particular set of skills… and staying out of trouble isn’t one of them. In Taken 3, this dad on the run will need his daughter’s help if he’s going to survive to see another sequel.

The spy world’s most devious dad is up to his old tricks when he’s not up to his nose in chores. The whole family can watch Gru gets back to badness in Despicable Me 3.

Peter Rabbit’s got some tricks up his sleeve

And apparently, so do you

Last chance to asve 25% on Peter Rabbit and over 200 other movies for our Family Sale!

Today is the last day to get the original mischievous bunny, Peter Rabbit, for 25% off (SD and HDX). See, like Peter, we’ve got tricks up our sleeve too. And we’ve got 200 more tricks for you to dig up at 25% off if you hop on over our Family Sale before it ends tonight. So, channel the hare and not the tortoise, and jump to it.

This Peter Rabbit isn’t the garden variety Beatrix Potter bunny of 1902. This is a modern, 21st century rabbit with updated the tricks and antics, and he uses them hilariously to get into Old Mr. McGregor’s garden.

But it seems he isn’t the only one employing a bit of creativity to get his way. Based on a recent survey of 2,000 parents, it’s come to our attention that a little more than half of you seem to employ tricks of your own to get kids to behave – several a day in fact. (We see how it is…)

So have some fun and check out a few results from our survey before you check out Peter Rabbit. (Don’t worry, 95% of parents surveyed let their child watch movies & TV to get a break for themselves, so you’re not alone.)

Then gather the family around the home theater and perk your floppy ears up for the vocal antics of James Corden (Carpool Karaoke for the win!), Domhnall Gleeson, Sia, Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley, Rose Byrne, Elizabeth Debicki, and more.

We saved you a seat for the Jumanji #VuduViewingParty

Join us this Friday, 3/23, at 6pm (PT) for fun, prizes, and more fun

It’s not a game, it’s a #VuduViewingParty

It’s Monday, but don’t cry, register for our #VuduViewingParty and breath an extra life into your week with the promise of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle!

Come for the movie, stay for the prizes

Joining the #VuduViewingParty is easy. First, you’ll need to get Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Buy it or rent it, but you’re gonna need it to watch with us.

Second, you’ll need to RSVP for the party and follow us on “the Twitters” @vudufans.

Then when you hear beating drums this Friday, 3/23, at 6:00pm (PT), it’s game on! (If you actually hear beating drums, you might want to run.)

So get ready to kick back, take a selfie, and join the party without worrying about being eaten by a hippo. We’ll be chatting it up on Twitter all the while with fun facts, trivia, and prizes!

A familiar place, a whole new adventure

We know, the original Jumanji is a classic and shouldn’t be messed with – we agree. But this reboot does a great job of bushwacking its own path without stepping on any toes (or monkey tails) and pays just enough homage to the original to be respectful.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is one jungle we don’t mind getting lost in. The Rock rocks as the awkward nerd, Jack Black really makes you believe he’s a teenage girl trapped in a middle-aged man’s body (like, really), Kevin Hart is hilarious as always, and Karen Gillan is amazingly tongue-in-cheek as a wallflower turned video game vixen. Plus, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and it makes some pretty clever jokes you wouldn’t expect.

So what are you waiting for? Don’t be a non-player character, get in on the action and RSVP today!

Thor: Ragnarok rocked #VuduViewingParty history

#VuduViewingParty is not a place, it’s a people

We asked you if you were ready to Ragnarok, and apparently, you were. The Thor: Ragnarok viewing party was one for the books, so kudos to everyone who joined in the fun.

Thousands of you showed up (good thing we cleaned up the living room), and you came ready for a smashing good time. So much so that #VuduViewingParty was trending on Twitter for several hours with over 12,500 tweets – go you (and us, #humblebrag)!

More fun than the Grandmasters birthday ship

So thank you for joining us! We had laughs, we watched an awesome movie, we even gave away some pretty epic prizes worthy of the Grandmaster himself (it’s safe to touch the prizes). Oh, let’s not forget the fact we made a lot of new friends – including Tessa Thompson (#humblebrag #2 + #namedrop)!

Not only did Tessa show up, in true Valkyrie form she stormed in and showed off her moves – in full battle gear!

FOMO is a four letter word

Oddly enough so are Thor, Loki, Hulk, Hela, Odin, Korg, and even Doug. And if you missed them and our viewing party, then you definitely might have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).

Aside from seeing her dope dance moves, Tessa answered fan questions via the @thorofficial account during the viewing party, and even chatted it up with fans from her personal @TesaThompson_x personal account prior to the show! Lucky you guys. If you missed it, bet you wish you didn’t.

And there were prizes! Boy were there prizes. It was like Oprah was up in here.

Well, no one got a car (we wish), but we did dole out prize packs, action figures, standees, and even actor signed posters! Oh, and a 43”, 4K TV! (kinda sorta close to a car?)

If you missed it, don’t cry, our next #VuduViewingParty is coming up in about 3 weeks – when on 3/23, you can join us for…Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (…we’ve got fun and games. We got the movie you want to watch, you can even call it by name – Jumanji! Yeah, Jumanji! Gonna bring you to your shun n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n knees, knees. Ok, we’re done.)

Don’t miss out, RSVP now at vudu.com/viewingparty. And be sure to pre-order Jumanji now (available in up to 4K +HDR) and get $3 Vudu Credit to use when the movie is released! Pre-order terms and conditions here.

Make it a Ferdinand Family Movie Night

Stop and smell the flowers, as a family

This bull is adore-a-bull and love-a-bull. After all, how could you not love a bull who would rather stop and smell the flowers than bullfight?

Ferdinand is based on the classic children’s book of the same name. And we think there’s no better way to spend some family time than with a bull who is doing everything in his power to get back to his family. So, join Ferdinand and his friends, Lupe, Una, Dos, Cuatro, and more as this not-so-raging bull has the adventure of a lifetime.

We’re bullish on fun

First, you’ll need to get the movie – can’t have movie night without the movie. Lucky for you we know a place.

Then print out these free activity sheets with some fun coloring sheets and puzzles that’ll add to the festivities.

Then you can make both a flower crown or some bullhorns – you know so you can get into character for the movie. Now you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie.
