FREE MOVIES AND TV FOR FRIDAY

WEEKEND RUMBLE

This week’s new free movies are coming out swinging. Pop some corn and grab your ringside seat to some mob vs. mob, man vs. demon, nunchuck vs. handgun grudge matches.

NEW THIS WEEK

More deadly than The Godfather. More infamous than Scarface. Less fictional than either. James “Whitey” Bulger ruled the Boston underworld with an iron fist, until some dirty dealings with the FBI changed the game forever. Black Mass chronicles the life and times of a flesh-and-blood urban legend.

Just like Roger Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon, cynical exorcist Cotton Marcus is getting too old for this… stuff. His one last job is the literal assignment from hell, and he’ll have to outwit one seriously possessed farmer’s daughter if he wants to finish The Last Exorcism and make it to retirement.

Honor can only get you so far. With his studio, his marriage, and his reputation all hanging in the balance, one Brazilian jiu-jitsu master (Chiwetel Ejiofor) will have to choose between the path of least resistance and his own personal code. Either way, this Redbelt leaving everything on the mat.

Straight out the funkadelic 70s (sort of), it’s Black Dynamite! This high-kicking hero is here to clean up the streets, make the ladies swoon, and lovingly parody every possible trope and gag from the Blaxploitation films of yesterday, all while dressed in the finest luxury threads.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Discover the hidden stories behind star athletes, visionary artists, and parking attendants (?) in these revealing documentaries.

Relive the madness with Linsanity, an in-depth look at the meteoric rise, on-and-off-court hurdles, and inspirational life story of basketball’s first Asian-American superstar, Jeremy Lin.

With their experimental techniques, contemporary subject matter, and daring directorial choices, Truffaut and Godard defined the French New Wave film movement. Two in the Wave explores their great successes, friendship, and eventual falling out as they pursued their personal visions of what film could be.

Managing the patrons and vehicles of a busy paid parking lot may not seem like much, but to this crew of Virginia attendants it offers the chance to wax philosophical, share small successes, and engage with humans in their most primal state (parking). The Parking Lot Movie contains unexpected multitudes.

Time to put away the toys, get everyone comfy on the couch, and relax with some great family favorites to Watch with the Kids. With fun-filled movies like My Dog Skip, Osmosis Jones, Dolphin Tale, and The Adventures of Pinocchio, there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy.

Looking for something a little out there? Mind Bending Sci-Fi standards like Lost in Space, Outbreak, and Hollow Man will have you dreaming of robots, aliens, invisible men, and other feats of speculative super-science.

QUALITY AND QUANTITY

The best things in life are free, and that includes premium movies and TV. Check out the latest top-tier titles joining our library of over 5,000 free movies and shows.

NEW THIS WEEK

We’ve seen real-life Ghost Hunters, Cake Bosses, and even Dr. Pimple Poppers on reality TV, but what about a fame-hungry showboat and a grizzled veteran cop teaming up to clean up Los Angeles. Anything goes when it’s Showtime.

The psychiatrist has become the patient. Waking up confined in the very hospital where she treats others, Dr. Grey (Halle Berry) struggles to unravel the disturbing events that got her there—and she may not like what she finds in Gothika.

After all the pokes, pranks, and nyuknyuknyuks, the long-retired Three Stooges must decide if the world is ready for their return. A poignant recollection of their humble, slap-happy beginnings and off-stage highs and lows reveals the answer.

When it comes to ancient curses and vengeful spirits of the damned, what goes around comes around. As the people around her start dropping like flies, Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) must go back to the beginning to break the cycle of The Grudge.

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

Still waters run deep in these shocking, engaging, and inspiring explorations of what we miss with first impressions.

A melancholy family reunion turns straight-up miserable when the black sheep son accuses his renowned psychiatrist father of experimenting on him and his adopted siblings. Discerning truth from fiction means unearthing all the family secrets, and everyone’s ready to dig in Altered Minds.

Old friends, new problems. Three Yorkshire couples are shaken up by the imminent death of a mutual friend, but planning around his final days reveals much more about their own relationships than it does about the actual Life of Riley.

Rap’s legacy of cutting lyrical finesse and acrobatic flows is no secret, but freestyling, rap’s improvisational cousin, doesn’t always get the same shine. Watch a who’s who of hip hop tastemakers boom, beatbox, and battle their way through the history of this unique art form in Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme.

FREE COLLECTIONS

Blood, sweat, tears, family, friendship, government secrets… you name it. It’s all on the line when it comes to high-intensity Action Thrillers like Three Kings, Bobby Z, Johnny Mnemonic, and Demolition Man.

Love stinks, but that doesn’t mean we can’t all enjoy some good Rom Coms. Whether you’re settled down, ready to mingle, or all broken up, you can’t help but laugh, cry, and cheer for Over Her Dead Body, Sleepless in Seattle, Woo, Flipped, and more.

Hint: They’re still alive at the end of the movie

Just another Thanos Thursday

While Thanos is counting out half of the universe to wipe out, we’re counting down the hours to our next #VuduViewingParty. And we’re excited to say we’re only about 24-hours away from the end of the world as we know it, and we feel fine – because it’s going to be epic.

Tomorrow at 7:00 PM (PT) sharp (no one likes being late to the balancing of the universe), we’re kicking off our Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War #VuduViewingParty. And you’re going to want to join us because we’ve got a great movie, lots of fun trivia, and prizes worth their weight in Infinity Stones – and the Russo Brothers. Yup, first Tessa Thompson, now the Russo Brothers. How bow dah.

So if you haven’t signed up, hurry up and RSVP to watch Avengers: Infinity War with the directors themselves. All you need is Avengers: Infinity War (watch it in up to 4K + HDR!) and a Twitter account.

Check out our Infinity Bling

Avengers: Infinity War is a big movie, so we’re stepping up our game with some equally big prizes and prize packs. And more of them. So don’t worry, we’ll have plenty to go around. More so if you consider that half of you won’t be around to collect them by the end of the movie. (Come on, that’s not really a spoiler at this point.)

There are way too many prizes to list here, but we can show you a picture of some of them.

We can also tell you that we channeled Mantis to lull Funko and Hasbro into being prize sponsors so we can bring you some really cool Funko Avengers: Infinity War Pops and PEZ dispensers, and Hasbro action figures and Avengers Assemblers.

Billion Dollar Brothers

So who are Joe and Anthony Russo? Well, they have directed three Marvel movies (we’re not counting Avengers 4 yet) which, to date, have made a combined $3 billion worldwide. So, this ain’t their first rodeo. But their journey to Avengers: Infinity war was as much a journey as the 10-year long one that the Avengers themselves had.

Before Thanos, the Infinity Stones, the Avengers, and even directing “Cap,” they were starting out the way most filmmakers start out – by maxing out their credit cards for their first movie, Pieces.

However, Pieces caught the eye of Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney, who recruited them for the star-studded caper-comedy Welcome to Collinwood. Which, in turn, caught the eye of a studio exec who turned to them to direct the comedy, Lucky. But that was canceled after just one season. Which luckily (eh, eh) was on just long enough to gain one important fan, Ron Howard, who put them in charge of a little comedy show called Arrested Development. No big deal.

Along the way, Soderbergh was there to inspire them creatively, and eventually, to convince them to jump to big-budget movie-making – finally punching their Marvel Studios golden ticket to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, and ultimately the Avengers-movies-that-could-end-all-Avengers-movies.
