Free Cars 3 Family Movie Night Activities

Burn rubber this weekend with Cars 3 and Vudu

Start your engines, the weekend is here. And even though it’s a race to get as much done as possible before the yellow warning flag signals Monday, consider shifting to a lower gear and taking time for some family fun with a Cars 3 movie night – complete with free activities the whole pit crew can enjoy.

Get movie night on track by getting Cars 3 if you haven’t already. Pixar has outdone themselves with the animation in this third installment of the beloved Cars franchise, so you should totally check it out in 4K UHD – and if your set-up is Dolby Vision capable, well, then you’re operating on some high-octane goodness.

Before the main event, you can do some pre-race warm-up laps with coloring sheets of your favorite Cars 3 characters, including Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm, and Cruz Ramirez. You can also learn some fun facts about the film with Nat Stats. Or if you’re ready to get bumped up from Thunder Hollow to the Piston Cup, then try your hand at the Crazy Eights card game featuring the fearsome Miss Fritter.

Then when you’re ready, line up at the start (pro-tip: go for the pole position at the end of the couch) and enjoy the movie. And when you’re done, take a victory lap with some of the great bonus features in the Vudu Extras tab. So tune up, tune in, and we’ll see you at the races.

Atomic Blonde is blowing up your TV in 4K + Dolby Vision HDR

Also, Cars 3 comes in hot, new rentals, and free “Even Stranger Things”

Blondes have more fun (killing)

This movie packs some serious punch. No, we mean, like, nuclear. But what else would you expect from the director that also brought us John Wick? Based on the graphic novel “The Coldest City,” Atomic Blonde is graphic, and Charlize Theron’s character is cold, but everything else in the film is blazing hot. Especially in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision HDR. Brighter neon, darker alleys, and harder punches (figuratively) – it’s all there with more color and vibrancy thanks to HDR.

But Charlize isn’t the only one that packs extra punch. When you get Atomic Blonde, you’ll also get our exclusive Extras+ experience included. Just watch on a mobile device in portrait mode and experience bonuses synced to the movie, extras, a super spy challenge, a digital comic, and so much more.

Car chases that get even more animated

Sure there are fast car chases in Atomic Blonde, but they aren’t Lightning McQueen fast. Disney Pixar is back with Cars 3, the third installment of the wildly popular Cars series. And it gets real – real fast. (At least as real as animated cars can get.) This time around Lightning is looking for redemption, and he looks to some new and old friends to help him get back on track.

available to rent: Annabelle: Creation, Emoji, Apes

Didn’t get a chance to catch War for the Planet of the Apes in the theater? Well, you’re in luck because this third installment of the Apes franchise is now available for rent on Vudu. This movie doesn’t monkey around when it comes to action-packed, epic battles – and it even tackles some deep philosophical topics around what it means to be human and the consequences of absolute power.

With 30 days to start your rental, we’ve got one of the most generous rental policies out there, because, hey, life happens. Can’t watch the night you rented? No problem. There’s no need to return anything, no wasted rental fee, and no extra rental charges – just extra time. And after you finally hit play, you’ll get 24-72 hours (title dependent) to finish – so rent away.

A collection of “Even Stranger Things”

A whole collection of free movies? That’s not strange at all.  At least for us and Movies On Us.

Just in time for Halloween, we’ve got Shutter Island (not a vacation getaway destination), The Island of Dr. Moreau (also not a vacation getaway destination), Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy (a whole different kind of strange, but classic, thing), and more. All for free on Movies On Us.

We just made 4K look even better with new pricing

4K

Get new 4K UHD pricing on over 60 Universal and Warner Brothers titles, most at $14.99

We’ve just made the beauty of 4K UHD even more attractive by bringing down the price on over 60 Universal and Warner Brothers titles. Yup. Stunning picture, eye-catching pricing – adding more movies with more pixels to your collection has never looked better.

Most titles are priced in at $14.99, with some starting at $9.99. You’ll also see new pricing on 4K UHD rentals (where available) for these titles as well – with most at $3.99.

Obviously, you’ll need 4K-capable equipment to enjoy each one of the over 8 million pixels of 4K UHD. That’s four times clearer than full HD – 3840 x 2160 lines of resolution vs. the 1920 x 1080 of HDTVs if you are counting.

This new pricing should look good to you even if you don’t have 4K-capable equipment yet. Because when you buy in 4K UHD resolution, you’ll also get the ability to watch in HDX or SD resolution as well – making any 4K UHD purchase future–proof for when you do upgrade to 4K-capable equipment.

See it all here.

Watch Spider-Man: Homecoming in UHD for $19.99, Game of Thrones, new to rent, and free laughs with class clowns

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, look out, here comes the Spider-Man…in 4K+HDR (Dolby Vision) for only $19.99! That’s right, we’re basically giving you a free 4K+HDR upgrade to Spider-Man: Homecoming for the HDX price of $19.99.

So, why not future-proof your collection by getting a Stark Industries-level upgrade to 4K? Even if you don’t have a 4K TV yet, you can pick up the 4K+HDR version for just $19.99 and watch it on your existing HDTV by selecting HDX for your playback quality in the control bar, or by setting it as your Default Playback Quality on your Account Info page.

But if you have 4K-capable equipment, you’ll enjoy 4x the pixels and be awed by the enhanced color and brightness of Dolby Vision HDR (if your setup is also Dolby Vision compatible).

On top of all that, you’ll also get the Extras+ enhanced viewing experience when you watch it on mobile. It’s already included, just watch using the Extras+ option from your Android or iOS mobile device and experience bonuses synced to the movie, photo galleries, deleted scenes, and so much more. (You’ve got to check out the Rappin With Cap featurettes.)

Also available: The Beguiled and The House

They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. So how about a house full of scorned women? Watch The Beguiled and see what happens when a Union soldier (Colin Farrell) finds himself intertwined in jealousy and vengeance at a women’s school (run by Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst) in this remake of the 1971 film of the same name.

They also say the house always has an edge, but in the case of The House, we’re not so sure. This comedy follows parents (Amy Poehler, Will Ferrell) who turn their house into a casino to help fund their daughter’s college education. Can they pull it off? Only the casi-knows.

Winter is here. So is Game of Thrones.

The North remembers, but did you? Game of Thrones Season 7 is now available on Vudu. Maybe you should order it now so you can binge this weekend. Go for it, we’ll hold the door.

New Rental: Transformers: The Last Knight

If you haven’t watched it yet, Transformers: The Last Knight is now available to rent. You can probably guess the plot but that’s ok – since we both know you’re just in it for the signature Michael Bay action, explosions, and low-angle hero shots.

Laughs so cheap they’re free

Class is in session and these guys are teaching some AP-level comedy. Enjoy some laughs on us with the Class Clowns collection on Movies On Us. Watch titles like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Bad News Bears, Possums, Clifford, and more – all for free. While you’re there, feel free to check out Action-Packed!, Last Chance to Watch, and other collections. Also be sure to check out a Vudu exclusive, The Space Between, Amy Jo Johnson’s directorial debut in the Indie Spotlight.

Pre-order Spider-Man: Homecoming in HDX and get it upgraded to 4K+HDR for free

Is your Spidey sense tingling yet?

It should be. Because your HDX pre-order of Spider-Man: Homecoming will get a free Tony Stark-level upgrade to the 4K+HDR (UHD) version when it’s released. That’s right, you’re getting Spider-Man: Homecoming in 4K+HDR for only $19.99! Yes, even though it doesn’t show the option. (It’s like a surprise in a suitcase, only it’s on your computer. Or whatever device you’re on.)

And, YES, that means if you already pre-ordered the HDX version, you’re automatically (or should we say, automagically) getting a free upgrade to the 4K+HDR version too. Yeah. So you won’t be needing that caps lock button for an internet rant after all. (Yup, just reach that pinky over there…and yeah…click…there you go.)

How about that. Peter Parker gets an upgraded suit; you get an upgraded movie. For free. Not to mention on top of it all, you’ll also be eligible to get $3 movie credit back when the movie is released. Boom. Training-wheels protocol disengaged.

Even if you don’t have a 4K TV, no worries. You’ll get the 4K+HDR version of the movie (because free upgrade) and you’ll still be able to manually downgrade the resolution (from the control bar) to watch it in HDX like you normally would. Then when you get your sticky spider fingers on a 4K TV, voila, you’re future proof.

Heck yeah, it’s big news. It’s like Goliath Birdeater tarantula big. Well, even bigger, but that’s big enough as far as spiders are concerned. So, sling some web and head over to pre-order it now.

And then join us for our #VuduViewingParty on Friday, Sept. 29th, at 6:00pm (PT). Follow @vudufans on Twitter for fun facts, trivia, and giveaways all throughout the screening! RSVP now and reserve a spot on your couch for Spider-Man and Vudu!

As with all pre-orders, we’ll process your payment on the release date, and you’ll receive your $3 movie credit shortly after that.
