She’s a Survivor

Watch the new Tomb Raider today on Vudu

Lara Croft is back, this time with Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) as the adventure seeking, never-say-die Tomb Raider. Don’t get us wrong, we’ll always be fans of the super fun Angelina Jolie versions, but this reboot brings new energy and attitude – with a heaping portion of butt-kicking empowerment.  Watch it in up to 4K + HDR now.

Unsane in the Membrane

Why you wanna get crazy with Unsane? Don't you know it's loco?

Girl sees her stalker everywhere. Girl thinks she might be crazy. Girl accidentally commits herself. Unsane has a lot going on and edge-of-your-seat suspense is definitely one of them. Not to mention it was all shot on an iPhone, which sounds pretty unsane to us. Watch it on your iPhone, or any other device, today.

Here They Are, Rob You Like a Hurricane

A heist during a hurricane. Ridiculous? Maybe, but The Hurricane Heist is a whole lot of fun to watch – especially since it’s from the director of The Fast and the Furious. Come on, with a name like The Hurricane Heist, you pretty much know what you’re in for… that’s right, Category 5 thrills at two hundred miles per hour.

One Wrinkle in Time

Young Meg (Storm Reid) is channeling her inner Whitney and looking for her one moment in time in Disney’s family-friendly adventure, A Wrinkle in Time. Based on the 1962 novel, this movie is packed with adventure and stars, including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Michael Peña, Zach Galifianakis, Chris Pine, and more.

Gotta Stay Fly

He's so fly, he never lands. Catch Peter Pan while you can, now on Vudu

Don’t call it a comeback, he’s been here for years – 65 to be exact. In celebration of the “boy who wouldn’t grow up” and his 65th birthday, Disney has released the original Peter Pan from the vault. Now part of “The Walt Disney Signature Collection” you can get it now as a stand-alone movie, or as part of the Peter Pan/Return to Neverland bundle.

By the Way

Don’t be standin’ in line to see the show tonight – these movies are still in theaters, but they’re also on Vudu.

In Feral, a group of six friends has it worse than those guys from The Blair Witch Project when they have to fight off zombies during the worst.camping.trip.ever.

If you haven’t had enough of Milla Jovovich in post-apocalyptic worlds (we know we haven’t), then check out Future World and enjoy some Mad Max-like action and Suki Waterhouse as an android.

They say if you lose a sense your other senses are heightened to compensate. Well, we’re not sure what sense we lost, but our sense of curiosity is peaked with In Darkness. Watch as a blind woman overhears the death of her neighbor and then gets tangled up with the Russian mob.

Reese Witherspoon is Mrs. Whatsit and Storm Reid is Meg Murry in Disney’s A WRINKLE IN TIME.

New this week: Annihilation, Death Wish, and The Strangers: Prey at Night

Plus, Range 15, Not a War Story, and rent Red Sparrow, Game Night, and more

Get ready for Annihilation

Annihilation is sci-fi at its best – both mind-bending and mind-opening. Directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina), Annihilation is filled with eye-popping visuals and a thoughtfulness and intelligence that stay with you long after the movie is over. Watch it today in up to 4K + HDR. And for you bundle fans, we’ve also got an Annihilation/Arrival bundle that features both movies in up to 4K + HDR.

Also, be sure to enter to win one of five Annihilation prize packs in our Annihilation contest!

Your Death Wish is our command

2018 is the new 1974 and Bruce Willis is the new Charles Bronson (sans the hair). But Death Wish is still the same bad-ass movie it’s always been. Sure the cities and the characters have changed somewhat, but the resulting wanton vigilante justice it serves up is still colder than a winter day (in either NY or Chi-town).

Truth is stranger than fiction

You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth…that The Strangers: Prey at Night is based on true events. Terrible, horrible, true events. You’ve had to wait 10 years for this sequel, but now that your prayers have been answered it’s time to lock yourself in and watch tonight.

New rentals:

Forget Cards Against Humanity, murder is what makes Game Night memorable.

Blondes have more fun, and blondes who become the Red Sparrow have a killer time.

If Early Man is any indicator, the downfall of mankind began a long time ago. Watch it in up to 4K + HDR.

Do you even Range 15, bro?

Like military movies? Like zombie movies? How about a zombie movie that stars actual veterans – including two Medal of Honor recipients – and that was backed by two veteran-run companies? Did we blow your mind yet? Because if not, Range 15 absolutely will.

This black comedy features over 80 veterans, hordes of zombies, and a ton of jokes that you’ll feel like you shouldn’t laugh at but will – and that’s ok.

And if you can’t get enough of Range 15, we highly recommend Not a War Story, the documentary about the making of Range 15. It’s full of insight into why this group of veterans was so committed to making the movie despite not having any movie-making experience.

Both movies are coming in hot and available now. And be sure get your movie buddy in the fight by yelling “fire in the hole” really loud before you hit play.

Watch Black Panther in 4K + HDR (even on Apple TV)

Jk, we’ve been waiting for this movie longer than Thanos has been searching for Infinity Stones. And now that it’s here, and in 4K + HDR, we’re excited to experience all the lifelike color depth and richness that comes with it – no ingestion of heart-shaped herbs necessary.

And if you’ve got an Apple TV, Vudu is now the only place you can now watch in up to 4K + HDR. (Make sure you have the latest version of the Vudu Player for Apple TV.) Is this what it feels like to be king?

Bad blood, bad morals, and bad dudes

We don’t know what kind of party The Party is, but when a movie opens with a gun to the face we’re pretty sure things are going to get pretty interesting. This dark comedy features an all-star cast (Patricia Clarkson, Emily Mortimer, Cillian Murphy, Kristin Scott Thomas, Timothy Spall, and more) and is as sharp as it is funny.

Watch the gripping foreign film, Graduation, on Vudu today!

And while it’s a little heavy, Graduation is worth the watch. Find out just how far a father will go to protect his daughter’s future when morality is tossed out the window like a cheap graduation hat.

Watch 15:17 to Paris and 12 Strong

Plus more new movies and rentals

Two stories of heroism

May is Military Appreciation Month, and we can’t say enough about the sacrifices the men and women of our armed forces make each and every day. From generation to generation, there are countless stories that should be recognized for their heroism – and these are just two of them.

The 15:17 to Paris is the true story of three friends on vacation who stood up to prevent a terrorist attack on a Paris bound train.

More than just a story of their heroism, the movie features the real-life heroes playing themselves on the big screen – and when you realize this, it makes every action in the movie that much more real – because it is. It shows exactly how the subjects remember it, because they’re acting it out. And it makes for a powerful movie that’ss available to watch now on Vudu in up to 4K + HDR.

Now available to rent (in up to 4K + HDR), 12 Strong is based on the true story of Special Forces ODA 595 and their insertion into Afghanistan just weeks after 9/11, in an effort to help General Dostum of the Afghan Northern Alliance capture a key Taliban stronghold. De Oppresso Liber.

Incredibly, the team was able to accomplish their mission within 23 days of arriving in Afghanistan – when the DOD had estimated they’d be in country for a year.

More New Movies This Week

A campy but fun comedy, Lazer Team 2 finds a group of haphazard heroes forced to settle their differences to come together again to save the planet, again. It’s slapstick with some nerd comedy thrown in, and it’s a galaxy of fun. Be sure to check that out the first Lazer Team to see how it all started.

Bigfoot, big screams. In Primal Rage legend and terror meet, get hairy, and hunt down a bunch of locals. We’ve always been fascinated by the Sasquatch, so we’re looking forward to checking out this creature feature survival story.

You may have read subtitles, but the German film, Tiger Girl, is worth it. Think an effortlessly cool and energetic female Fight Club of two. Two women coming together to wreak havoc on the world around them that has done them wrong.
