A TRAVELER’S GUIDE TO THE WORLD OF STEPHEN KING – PART TWO: CASTLE ROCK

THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Greetings, paranormal pilgrims, and welcome to the second chapter of Vudu’s terrifying tour of the Stephen King horrorscape.

Our next stop in King’s fictional interpretation of Maine is in the seemingly idyllic township of Castle Rock, where medical mysteries, baleful beasts, and desecrated dungeons lurk around every corner.

One of Castle Rock’s most infamous tales is that of The Dead Zone, in which local schoolteacher Johnny Smith awakens from a years long coma with the power to see beyond the veil into the past, present, and grisly future of those around him. Whether a gift or a curse, this abnormal ability is but one of many manifestations of the town’s ever-present eeriness.

Perhaps more terrifying still is the story of Castle Rock’s cuddliest killer: Cujo. Once a very good boy, this massive mutt takes an evil turn after an encounter with a rabid bat, at which point his bite becomes irreversibly worse than his bark.

Also darkening the vicinity of Castle Rock is the formerly abandoned and currently bedeviled textile mill of Graveyard Shift. As the overworked mill laborers are soon to discover, there’s more hiding in the mill’s depth than a few ornery rats…

Even newly-released horror hit Pet Sematary bears an uncanny link to Castle Rock’s bizarre borders. The original novel mentions the events of Cujo, which is fitting for a horror-thriller featuring beloved pets gone extremely bad.

Ready to experience some of these harrowing horrors for yourself? You didn’t hear it from us, but purchasing Pet Sematary may be the key to unlocking some devious deals that will help complete your collection…
