Is instawatch a rental of the movie on vudu or is it a digital copy of the movie to keep?

    Hi Jeff,

InstaWatch provides you with a digital copy of the movie to keep. Enjoy!

I bought the first and second season of Orange is the black both have digital download but you will not take the code. I even did the savings catcher and it did not register it like it normally does. We should be able to watch them instantly even if bought from Walmart. Com

    Hi Margaret,

Orange is the New Black seasons 1 and 2 are not InstaWatch eligible, so you will not be able to use the Savings Catcher app to redeem your digital copies. If you haven’t tried yet, find the two seasons of Orange is the New Black here: Then enter the codes.

If that doesn’t work, please contact 1 (888) 554-8838 or support @ and have as much information on hand (receipts, code) so we can help you quickly!

    Hi Jordyn,

Yes you do! But remember to look for the InstaWatch label.

I bought an instawatch eligible movie online… still haven’t gotten a code to watch it. I got the confirmation receipt for the purchase though… how long do i have to wait to watch it on instawatch?

  11. Comment by Jchang — July 20, 2015 at 9:28 am

Hi Mariah, if you used the email tied to your VUDU account when purchasing the InstaWatch eligible movie on, you should receive an email with a link directly to your VUDU account and the movie). If you did not, you should still receive an email with notice to claim your digital copy by creating an account on VUDU. Emails may take up to a day and please check your spam/junk folder!

so my question is this – when you purchase a instawatch eligible movie to stream via vudu through walmart as a DVD. What quality resolution are you granted or given, is it HDX ? HD? SD? Im confused by the particulars.

  13. Comment by Jchang — August 1, 2015 at 11:09 am

    Hi Tito,

Eligible DVDs provide the SD definition on VUDU.
Eligible Blu-rays provide the HD and HDX definitions on VUDU.

    Hope this helps!

I had an existing account with Vudu from many years ago. The email used for that account is not valid any longer. How can I link, or merge, these accounts? All of the movies that I buy go to a new account that I didn’t even know that I had.

Is the Inside Out movie that walmart offers for pre-order today available for InstaWatch on Vudu? If I pre-order it on 10/14 will the movie be automatically added to my Vudu account before walmart’s Nove 2nd release date? The email addresses on both and are the same.

  19. Comment by Jchang — October 16, 2015 at 9:02 am

    Hi Srebholz,

You can do both! You do not need the DVD to watch the movie if you have an internet-enabled device. You can just sign up to VUDU for free and redeem your digital copy (you’ll need to check your email and look for the notification from VUDU)

  20. Comment by Tabatha — October 17, 2015 at 12:20 pm

I just bought preorder of Jurassic World will the digital copy be available instantly since it’s available to watch now on vudu? Or will walmart wait to make it available on oct 20?

  21. Comment by Tabatha — October 17, 2015 at 12:38 pm

    Never mind it does

  22. Comment by Jchang — October 17, 2015 at 2:25 pm

    Hi Gwen,

Sorry Inside Out is not eligible for Instawatch, but it is available digitally now on VUDU!

I used the savings catcher and the movie was added to my account but still asking for code. Where did I find this? Nothing came in DVD case.

I added my TC# on the website because I don’t have a cell phone or android device, but I am being told I have to “scan the receipt” in order to get my digital copy movie access. How am I supposed to get my VUDU codes if I don’t have a cell phone? Can I email a picture of the scanned image? Obviously I do have a computer, but I guess that won’t work.

  29. Comment by Jchang — January 22, 2016 at 1:26 pm

    Hi Michael, you can try
    Hope this helps!

  30. Comment by Michael Slama — January 22, 2016 at 2:08 pm

That’s how I tried to get my codes the first time. Walmart responded by saying they couldn’t find a better price than what I paid, but said nothing about the VUDU codes. When I responded they said I needed to scan the receipt to get the codes, but I do not have a cell phone so I can’t use the “app”.

  31. Comment by Michael Slama — January 22, 2016 at 2:21 pm

Never mind – the movies mysteriously showed up on my VUDU account without me doing anything else. I guess I don’t understand how this works, but I bought the movies in the store (not online), and I never scanned the receipt.

  32. Comment by Jessica Tanner — January 28, 2016 at 10:23 pm

If I pre-order a movie via VUDU, will I still receive a hard copy of it?

  33. Comment by Jchang — January 29, 2016 at 8:58 am

    Hi Jessica. Not currently…

  34. Comment by Ben — September 24, 2016 at 4:21 pm

My son was given the new ninja turtles movie as a gift and he was not given a receipt. Is there any way to obtain the digital copy other then scanning the receipt?
