Toshiba and SANYO – Live and In Color

edward | May 28, 2010 in Partners,VUDU Apps | Comments (0)

As we’ve noted previously, VUDU is inking deals and working with hardware manufacturers on an extremely broad scale.  Today we’re announcing that two of those manufacturers, Toshiba and SANYO, are now shipping TVs and Blu-ray players with VUDU services inside them. This means that 6 of the 7 partners we announced at CES are now shipping products with VUDU on them, and the year’s not even half done.  Kudos to our amazing hardware vendors – they are they best engineers and product designers in the world, and we’re proud to have VUDU inside their products.

We’ve announced relationships with great CE manufacturers including LG, Mitsubishi, Samsung, SANYO, Sharp, Toshiba and VIZIO.  What’s more, we’ve all been putting our money where our mouth is, and getting those great new VUDU-enabled products out the door as fast as possible.  Some of those products carry only the VUDU Movie Service, and some include VUDU Apps, our platform for Internet services, including our movie service and other apps like Pandora, YouTube, Videos from the NYT and much more.  We have over 100 apps live in the VUDU Apps platform.

So we’re proud to say that we’re keeping the stores chock-full of VUDU goodness, including some awesome Toshiba Blu-ray players, and a beautiful new TV from SANYO.  Toshiba Blu-ray disc players are on sale in various retail outlets across the US and across the Web, as are SANYO TV models.  The SANYO TV is available at Walmart as well.  Maybe we’re biased, but Walmart is a great place to pick up your new SANYO TV with VUDU inside.  🙂

Below are the specific models now available.  We’ll let you know when more stuff is ready to order.  Let us know in the comments below what VUDU-enabled device you’re using, and how you like it. And thanks for reading our blog.  🙂
